I've had my machine for about 2 years now and I've decided to upgrade it part by part, and i have a couple questions with compatibility.
Current specs -
CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66GHz
RAM - 8GB DDR2
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GT 220
Power Supply - 450w
Motherboard - EG43m (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128354)
Right now my current graphics card is pretty much dead, running idle at 80 degrees Celsius, and up to 110 while running games, which ends up crashing.
So the first things I'm going to upgrade are my graphics card, power supply and a new case.
I'm looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130683
or maybe http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130620
Is paying the extra cash for the gtx570 worth it? or should i stick with the first one since I'm trying to save for other parts too.
Ill also be buying a new case and power supply with the graphics card
I'll be upgrading part by part after that, probably motherboard and CPU next.
So basically I'm wondering if my current build will support that Graphics card, and when i do upgrade my CPU (most likely getting an i5) and motherboard, what would be a good choice in a new motherboard
(ill also be adding upgrading RAM when i get the new motherboard, so im looking for something that will run 8-16 GB of DDR3)
Any help is greatly appreciated
