Monitor onboard speakers

Assuming the monitor has built in speakers you would attach a speaker lead from the monitor to the computer. The plug input is usually on the back or bottom of the monitor (likely green in color) the lead(cable) which generally comes with a new monitor and usually has green ends,this then goes to the computer speaker input, which is also generally green. If the inputs are not color coded on the computer, there is usually an icon indicating their purpose, headphone, mic and spkr. If the are not marked (rare) then the center input is USUALLY the spkr.

Low Monitor Volume ASUS LCD

I havea similar issue with a new ASUS LCD Monitor. I connected the Monitor, green to green and there is sound but it is so low in volume it is not of any use. I went to the control panel, checked settings on the CPU and Monitor and they are all nominal. I called Gateway tech support and they went through their procedures with me but had same result. Gateway said to call ASUS and I will do ASAP.

My monitor didn't come with anything to plug in from monitor to the CPU! What is it called and is it inexpensive? I just realized I can use a headset.
