PC hardware forum: Buy American

You can buy a computer that was made in the USA. Companies like Compal, First International Computer, and Quanta actually build most of the PCs and laptops sold within the U.S. under logos from Hewlett-Packard and others, while AsusTek, Foxconn, and others assemble the components.

A "totally" US built computer no longer exists.
You can get "US-assembled" units, but all the
sub-components are from Asia. Power supplies,
MOBOs, etc. We have, as consumers, driven our
local manufacturers out of business, because
countless millions of us have been willing to
drive 20 miles to a discount store to save
$2.50 on a $25.00 item. We are ALL guilty.

Assembled in the US should help our economy at least somewhat so I think that would be better than not helping our economy at all. I am thinking about getting an ZT Affinity because it states that it is at least assembled in the Us. I am also considering getting another custom made computer by an independent party but I do want to invest in a quality system.
What would you suggest??? Anyone.
