Both of these suggested programs are fantastic but none gives me USB hard drive make information. I have Maxtor One touch 4 but which hard drive is in there that I can't figure out. (Everest detected internal hard drive)

Any idea how I could do that.

If you have XP as the OS, use disk management. My computer>right click on the USB drive>hardware>Properties. You should get a model # which you can research via Google.

Everest Ultimate v3.5 reads and benchmarks
my USB flash drives; should do a HDD.

But it is not free.

PC Wizard 2008 is very good. Not only does it identify your hardware but it does some other important tasks as well. Like giving you important bench mark information about your computer. Gives you an indication of your CPUs temperature. It also has a feature that allows you to compare your computer to other computers within its class of computers. All of this information can assist you in identifying your computer's weaknesses. Invaluable information for those wishing to upgrade there computers.

I use a Free program called AIDA32 I download it from Major Geeks just run it and click on system and it will show you your whole system and if your drivers need updating it automatically gives you a link to their web sight
