Power Supply Disaster (Help needed immediately)
by HKPK_2005 - 2/11/06 12:14 AM
I just got back my PC from my parent's house, and once I connected the PC with all the cables and turned it on, it didn't turn on, and I immediately heard spark sounds and saw sparks flying inside my power supply. My dad found out that my power supply was fried, so he got a old 300 watt power supply from a old PC he had and replaced it with the fried one. The problem is that the old one doesn't have a P4 ATX Connector that my fried power supply did, but the PC still turned on and worked great,I'm just wondering what this connector does on the motherboard ( which component does connector give power to...)
P.S. When the power supply fries up, can other components inside my PC be affected as well??? ( Video cards, memory, hard drive,etc.....)
