dvi-d/vga - I need help connecting new monitor w/old tower.

I have an HP Pavilion Desktop from 2007.
It was running Windows Xp.
I had epic fail with (2) laptops so I started up the old Desktop.

I upgraded the memory - perfectly fine. happy
I upgraded the operating system - but it runs on partion for some reason... still fine though happy
purchased a new monitor that was bigger than the 15" it came with and NOW I have a problem.

The = new = monitor has 2 inputs... VGA & DVI-D
The = old = tower has 1 input for .... VGA.

The quality on the monitor is running analog and not as sharp.

How do I change this? I do not want to have to take the monitor back if there is an easy fix.

That looks like an easy fix and cheap solution.
