It's basically what the title says. I'm playing my steam games using my wired 360 controller. It's an actual Microsoft controller, white, and about 2 years old. What happens is that during one of these 'fits', whenever I use the Left or Right Triggers, my controller will disconnect and reconnect after about a half-second. This didn't start until I began playing Dishonored the day it came out.
Ever since then, my controller would have these fits for a minute or two, disconnecting and reconnecting whenever I touched the triggers. This happens across all my games, and it's pretty inconvenient. Borderlands 2, Dishonored, Saints Row: The Third, any that use the trigger buttons alot. It then stops, and, like a very moody child, comes back later when you least expect it, and at a very inconvenient time. I checked to see if it was the controller itself by playing my actual 360 with it, but I didn't encounter any issues. I also tried downloading the most recent PC drivers for the 360 controllers, and it didn't work either.
Basically;
My controller throws fits and disconnects from my PC when I use the triggers, and then stops throwing the fit for a while. I don't think it's the controller itself, because I haven't altered it and it worked fine on my 360. Downloading the drivers didn't help either so I'm at a loss, and would very much appreciate some assistance in this matter.
