Printing margin problem HP 2050

I have an HP Deskjet 2050, all-in-one J510a series.
I use W.7 Home Premium.
I have Office 2007.
Whenever I seek to print a page, and more especially one with a border surrounding it, I get an error stating that the text is outside the printing area.
I tried to print out a booklet both with Word 2007 and a PDF file with Adobe Reader. No borders were allowed either along the right side or on the bottom, and part of the right side of the printing was missing some letters of text.
I have tried, literally, to select EVERY available Margin Choice in Word, Page Layout/Margins. (Including "Custom Margins.)
I have clicked on the "FIX" option that sometimes appears.
I have also tried the page available on the internet concerning the known Issues related to HP printers and Windows 7, and the problems with printing Word documents. All suggestions were unsuccessful.
I have tried the options at "Preferences" and "Help" in the choices on opening the printer details.
Each suggestion has been tried and NOTHING allows the page to be printed correctly.
The border will be missing a part either along the bottom or side border, and adjustments make no difference.
This printer is so obviously not compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium.
It would be nice to know what printer I have to purchase to replace the 2050 that I have now.
They say 'if it is not broken, don't fix it.' However if it can't be fixed then it will have to be broken (thrown away).
If that has to happen, then for sure, I shall not purchase another HP printer! (This one was bought as a 'special offer' - makes me wonder why it was on offer!!)
Thanks for any input.
