Soundproof - what (type of) headphones(/sets) are?

Good day.
I want to finally be able to play in quiet and peace, without hearing my PC sounds or my neighbors. I'm currently using the Philips SHP2700, and while the sound is good, it's far from soundproof. I've come across a few opinions about certain soundproof devices, but always something was wrong (bad sound, or in case of for example Sennheiser, low life expectancies). Can some one perhaps tell me what criteria have to be met in order for it to be soundproof? Maybe a certain type of material for the ear cups? That would make my search a lot easier.
Also if you have any personal experience about headphones or headsets that are a lot more soundproof than my Philips SHP2700, I'm more than happy to hear them.

While I do own noise canceling headphones there are not perfect. They do improve the experience but as you will discover, not one is soundproof.

So how do they do it on tourneys?

Wonder how they're doing it on tourneys then where gamers are not supposed to hear the chatter from enemy team, commentators, etc. I think I once heard something like they use two pairs, one pair earbuds with actual game sound, the other a headset with what they call "white-noise". Wonder if it's possible to set that up at your own home? It should be possible, if they can do it...

That aside, I would like to hear what type of headphones you're using, and what your experiences with them are (sound quality, how long they're already holding together, etc).

No wonder here. It does a great job but is not perfect. You wrote "sound proof." When you did that, I know what that means since long ago I built such rooms and it was amazing what you had to do. Headphones can not be absolutely sound proof.

The sound does not have to enter the ear canal as well so to claim this is sound proof is a stretch (i.e. marketing.)

If you want a much better experience, they do help.
