W Externals and USB Hubs

I have an HP Slimline running Windows7 and a dozen WD Passport external 1TB hard drives. When I attach powered USB hubs and no more than 4 drives per hub to the computer, it only picks up 2 or 3. I only want to review which files are on which drives using Computer. Are there any hardware/software solutions to the problem? Thanks in Advance

Usually a drive letter conflict.

If there is no hardware issue such as folk expected the hub to supply power to that many drives, it's the old drive letter issue. Google USB HARD DRIVE LETTER PROBLEMS for prior discussions.

If it's a power issue, keep it to 2 drives per powered hub.
