Canon MP830 Printer has stopped-"Error Code 6500"??

My Canon MP830 printer has stopped cold. I've replaced the power cord and now it will go but only for seconds at a time.
The "error code 6500" now comes up on my mini-screen.
What does this mean?? I've tried to re-cycle the machine, on & off, several times to no go purpose...Have also tried pushing on/off buttons and stop/reset button at different times & at the same time...still no printing possible.
I've also turned the printer on & off several times & still it won't work...Do I need a new printer or is there really a way to save my Canon.???

Canon MP830 won't work!?--Pt.2..

I've read all the discussions here on part Canon printers as well as those posted on Bleeping Computer and it seems no matter what I try with all the buttons and resets, nothing changes and the Error code 6500 still runs...It seems to be based on the fact that my Logical Board is bad or going bad....No sense digging into this printer to find & fix that...not worth the time or trouble...

Is there a general idea out there as to who makes the best printers, realiablity wise??
I thought it was Canon, but after going thru 2 of them in 3 years, I guess not....

Consumer printers are usually 2 year affairs.

If you want a few more years look at the office printers offered by Canon and others.
