Make your own USB peripherals

Just incase you didn't know you can actually make your own USB contolled circuits with the open source Arduino platform, the same one that google is integrating with andoid.

These can do things like measuring temperature, GPS location, distance etc and in turn report that back to a PC or Mac and also control motors, relays etc. Great books available at http://arduinobooks.com ,I got the Arduino cookbook to get started.

Also try googling arduino on youtube you'll see all sorts of neat stuff that people have done with this platform.

Sparkfun.com sells the kits for about $40, the mac / linux / windows software is free from arduino.cc
