Flashing lines in the monitor

Laptop:
HP dv2845se
Windows Vista 64
2.1GHz AMD Turion 64 X2
4GB

Monitor:
HP 2009m

The problem is, the monitor works just fine, when is connected to my desktop through VG, but when I connect my laptop through VGA too, some flashing lines appears, especially when the background is gray. Is my laptop VGA port damaged? My monitor isn't correctly configured? Or something else?

We had a similar situation about a year ago and as I recall it had to do with a/c ground, try a three way adapter from the L/T to a/c and see what happens it is woth a shot.

Thanks for your answer. Forgive me, I have beem away for some time.

What do you mean by L/T adapter?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, shouldn't the problem persist even when I change to which computer is connected? Because the lines appear when is my laptop the one connected, but when I connect the desktop the problem ceases. So, the AC shouldn't be the problem. Again, corerect me if I'm wrong.
