Ref: Dell AIO copies but stopped scanning and printing.

I have been in the middle of a nightmare with Dell, especially for the last 3 weeks. I will pass the details.
I have a dell printer AIO 962 and dell dimension 9100 bought in 2005.
I have windows XP professionnal and office XP. I have DSL with bellsouth and uses McAffee security. I am very strict in updating very regularly. My CD has only 20% used.Ram memory is now 4GB
Things were going ok with the printer (except cleaning the cartridges very often and wasting a lot of ink with these cleanings,).
It just stopped working about 3 or 4 weeks ago: I can copy documents,
but I cannot print neither scan.For me it sounds and looks like Steve 1209 topic. I wonder if you could help me.
For the history,
when I update with dell it says I am fine.
When I update with microsoft, in the options they recommend updating with an inkjet driver update, which I downloaded successfully after several trials..before microsoft kept giving a message with the yellow arrow that some driver needs to be updated.It seems that some problems started after that
Since I contacted Dell, I had to take additionnal warranties driver and software (end of the life warranty..)and refused to buy a new computer and printer that I cannot afford being on disability.
I was told my computer was contaminated, and I had to buy portable hardrive,and they wanted to change OS.They did not yet
I had the computer tested twice by McAffee and finally was said it was OK.
After several times with software and printer people, they removed and reinstalled a 2005 driver ( when dell tried to print it started but the paper jammed and after that I am told to check again with software people as there is a run time error...They install a 2nd printer AIO 2.Well despite my payment I am listed as out of warranty so I am waiting before recontacting software. Meanwhile Dell asked me to upgrade my memory RAM and am at 4GB now.
I have the feeling I am going nowhere whith DELL.
Each time they accessed my computer for diagnostic. After 2 of these interventions I got an alert about artemis that I eliminated.
I found some help with a 2005 procedure about inkjets with a revision on august 20 2009. I tried to follow the procedure got stock as at one time you need to restart the computer and then cannot go back to the process.
Presently the situation is the following when I restart the computer I get the run time error:
Program:C:/Programfiles/Dell photo AIO Printer 962/dlbxmon.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate an unsual way.Please contact the application's support team for support for more info.
When I want to print a page, I see the icon printer coming in at the bottom right and disappear rapidly and nothing happens.no error message.
I do hope you can help me as I see so many similaritiea with steve 1209.
I apologyse for the computer terminology I used , I am a 65 senior who learned about computer by myself and I am at the verge to loose my sanity..
