Best low-cost all-in-one inkjet?

My Epson CX4800 died. I liked the all-in-one print-scan-copy versatility, the print quality was reasonable, and I liked the separate color ink tanks so that I'm not buying whole new cartridges just because one color ran out. Would another CX4800 be the best replacement for the cost neighborhood, or is there a better one out there?

Way at the bottom there's an HP all-in-one from amazon that I bought. I couldn't believe it, but I installed it all by my self and it works awesome.

thanks for the advice. I'm looking for one for my mom. Do you think she will be able to install it on her own? She knows almost nothing about computers and I live 800 miles away

HP OfficeJet 4315 seems to be a good possibility.

The HP all-in-one printer, OfficeJet 4315, shown in this link http://www.amazon.com/Officejet-Printer-Scanner-Q8081A-ABA/dp/B000F719N0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1197663440&sr=1-5 is very reasonably priced no matter where you buy it (and it's available most anywhere), is very simple to set up and operate, and works like a charm, including the fax feature. It's not the fastest printer on the block, but it's a good choice for some.

We bought this for a second home 3 1/2 years ago; and when we sold that, we brought it back to our primary home and hooked it up to our second pc. It has NEVER failed us and does not use ink excessively as some printers are reported to do. My husband is not the most computer savvy person, and he can use all its functions.

I think your mom would be pleased with this all-in-one ... so long as she doesn't have her heart set on a flatbed for copying and scanning.
