UNLOCK MY MAXTOR ONE TOUCH DISK

I have a maxtor one touch II hard disk with 300GB capacity. I cant access it any more. when i connect it to my system(winXP) the drive does not display instead it shows LOCKED MAXTOR DRIVE. I have lots of data on it. please i need help on how to unlock it.

From what I read, if it's working proper you must press the button on the drive.

http://www.dphoto.us/forum/archive/index.php/t-4539.html finds that this area is a common failure and the next call is to Maxtor or you can read the long discussion below for methods to remove the drive, place in the PC to get files out.
