E4200 v1 and windows 8 issue with logging onto router

Ever since i went from vista to windows 8 I'm having a tough time logging into my cisco router. Tried chrome, ie10, ie10 x64, and firefox. I can eventually get into the router but it just freezes up after i change categories. I've even been able to get in through cisco connect but it's hit or miss no matter how I try to get in. Tried compatabilty mode with ie as well. Reinstalled the router too. Cisco told me to try and use ie8. Don't think i can install a previous version. Maybe time to upgrade but this has been a great router. What browser should i try next?

IE has its compatibility mode which I see no mention of, and details such as you trying other PCs and OSes as well as trying other firmware versions are not in your post.

We can boot what is called a LiveOS from CD or USB if we suspect the OS.

"Tried compatabilty mode with ie as well." My work laptop with windows 7 has no issues logging into router. Router has latest firmware applied. I like windows 8 but had I known that I would be running into issues I would have just put 7 on my laptop. Drivers for printers were another issue but I have them working properly. Guess I know how MAC people feel now. Windows 8 not so plug and play with external devices.

So no other browser work

And no other OSes. With that out of the way the machine looks to have some defect. It's possible there is a driver issue but when I try other OSes (I use those Live OSs on USB or CD) then I start using other WiFi USB or Ethernet adapters.
