E4200 v1 and windows 8 issue with logging onto router

Ever since i went from vista to windows 8 I'm having a tough time logging into my cisco router. Tried chrome, ie10, ie10 x64, and firefox. I can eventually get into the router but it just freezes up after i change categories. I've even been able to get in through cisco connect but it's hit or miss no matter how I try to get in. Tried compatabilty mode with ie as well. Reinstalled the router too. Cisco told me to try and use ie8. Don't think i can install a previous version. Maybe time to upgrade but this has been a great router. What browser should i try next?
