Do I really need to update my wireless router???????

My current configuration is that I have a Linksys Wireless G router (model WRT54G). To it, I have hard wired my disktop computer and a network cable going to a switch in my home theater. To the switch I have hard wired the TV, BluRay player, Tivo, Satellite DVR and preamp. On the wireless side from the router, two laptops, a printer and a cell phone...non of which get used all that often.
I'm not really having any problems with speed on anything that's wireless. But I do wonder if the wired side is optimal given all the home theater stuff that's connected through the switch.
What I'm trying to find out is would updating the router help with the hard wired components or not? It would seem to me that the speed improvement of newer routers have primarily to do with wireless and that wired connections are likely to be the same. That's what I don't know.
