Hello,
I have telecom equipments having LMP (Local maintenance port) with IP address 192.168.255.129 on every equipment.
We have connected LMP port from individual equipments to seperate desktop machines, (desktop machine IP is kept in the same subnet as LMP IP). With this arrangement we can open application from desktop machines that talks with LMP port (application uses SSH)..
Problem we are facing with this arrangement is:
1 We have to lay lengthy LAN cables from individual LMP ports to desktop machines.
2. If we need connect LMP port to different desktop (these equipments are shared) machine, we need to re-route the cables.
I am looking for a solution that will:
1. connect LMP ports from individual equipments to a single server/switch, which will enable me to connect to any equipment from any desktop machine.
Is there a solution?
I am looking around for solution but not getting any. All LMP ports has same IP address, so how do we seperate them in a single switch so that I can connect to any of them individually from desktop application? Not able to get clear picture if any CISCO switch can be used with VLAN and tunneling to solve the purpose.
pls help
