Manage updates with the Download App
I have an HP laptop that connects to the wireless network, gets an IP address, and can communicate with devices on the LAN (like printers, firewall, or access point); but cannot get out to the WAN. It works fine plugged in, and it used to work fine on the wireless. I've checked firewall software and uninstalled/reinstalled drivers to no success.
Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

I see this when folk assign addresses. Be sure to check all the numbers. Such as IP, netmask, DNS, gateway. It's up to you to decide if you can share the needed details. Some folk won't.

I actually found last night that it will work if I manually configure the address, but if it's set to automatic addressing it doesn't. I looked for IP conflicts and couldn't find any problems with the one assigned by DHCP.
Manual addressing will work for now, but I'd like to figure it out so I don't have to go and change the settings manually every time I move to another network.

That's where I can usually figure it out. Sadly I'm working so so few details I have no reason to mention Vista's Broadcast Flag issue.

My apologies, here's some details:
The computer is Windows 7 Home Premium edition with an internal Intel adaptor. It connects to a D-Link DAP-2553 access point at "192.168.1.250" and then to a Netgear FVS318G Firewall. The Netgear is the gateway and handles DHCP, and is naturally located at "192.168.1.1". Everything in the network uses "255.255.255.0" for subnet mask, and DHCP is set to assign IPs at "192.168.1.100" thru ".199"
Using DHCP the laptop seems to usually get "192.168.1.123", and it could connect to the network (I.E. I can access the firewall from the laptop) but it doesn't get out to the web. I arbitrarily assigned it "192.168.1.222" with "255.255.255.0" subnet mask and "192.168.1.1" for gateway and DNS, and everything is happy.
