Hi,
I'm in need some help with a few questions about correctly setting up my IP 9258 power on and off switch server.
I have my IP 9258 currently setup at a remote location in another state to power off a Panasonic IP camera if I have connection issues.
I'm assuming the IP 9258 will not work for remote using from a browser if the Linksys router is down because the IP9258 is dependent on the router IP address and the router needs to be up and running for the IP9258 to work.
The BIG question is:
I recently lost my camera connection and have no clue why. I now can't see the IP 9248 server utility to power on and off.
I don't have the Linksys router or cable modem connected to the power ON and OFF server at the remote location, only the IP camera.
I did have the Comcast support ping and reset the cable modem but that didn't give me my connection camera connection back.
I'm heading soon to the remote location and need to resolve this issue.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a way to setup the IP 9258 so it can be accessed remotely via the web browser WITHOUT the Linksys router running? IS THIS CORRECT?
I would like to have the option to POWER OFF the Linksys router or IP camera without being dependent on the Linksys router.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you
