I bought an audio/video sender which work very well my only problem is that my remote controller does not change channels on the "receiver" TV. Is there anything I can do as I do not want to get out of bed to be able to change the channel?

I had the same problem, but my problem related to my satellite channels solution was to turn the sender off in the living room and hey presto, the channels changed no problem at all. In another instance, if I was watching in the bedroom and the channels on the satellite won't change, I just moved the sender in the living room closer to the "magic eye" thingy, (excuse my technical jargon), lol.
