How do I connect a wired device to a networked computer

Hi guys, if you can answer my question it will make my day.

I have a computer that connects to the internet via a wireless network connection. The router to which it connects is not physically available.

I have a device that I want to connect to the internet. However, it is a wired device. The device cannot reach the wireless router that the computer connects to.

Is there any way for the wired device to connect to the computer as an intermediary? The computer has a built in wired network card (as well as a USB wireless device that connects to the wifi router).

Is this possible?

For example there is Virtual Router at http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com/ but many are upset about the setup.

This is what WiFi bridges or "gaming bridges" are for.

This sounds like about what I need... Is there any alternative that is more backwards compatible? Do I need software for sure or can I do it with windows networking tools?

Wireless router ---> Connects to Computer ---> connects by wire to a device.

The computer is connected, but I need my device to connect via the computer somehow.

For XP you would research ICS. I no longer discuss ICS. I'll mention it and note that you can use the WiFi as a source and share out the Ethernet but I find more users to demand step by step. Sadly with the aging of XP and folk that installed countless firewalls and registry cleaners, not one step by step works today.

So that's the next idea. Use ICS.

And the real solution is the WiFi bridge.
