Home network - wired & wireless question

I just bought a house that is wired with cat 5e. The wiring was bascially put in for all of the televisions to access the internet. My question is - I want to utilize the exisiting wired network for the televisions / blue rays, gaming consoles, etc. / and also have a wireless connection for my laptops.

SO - what do I need to purchase for this to work. There is no equipment in the house - just the wiring. I currently have two linksys wireless routers that I would like to use.

There are about 18 runs of cable in the house so I figure I need a 24 port - hub / switch / router.

The house is two stories - so do I need a wireless access point on both floors? Can I use my linksys routers as access points?

In a nutshell - how do I get all 18 runs of cable connected together WITH internet access (cable) and also have a wireless signal throughout my house. I want SIMPLE - and the least expensive ideas.

I'd use my old simple setup I've done for years.

Internet -> router -> 24 port switched hub -> devices and the second router as a WAP.

Very simple. Many write novels about it but for me, it's done all the time. About that router as a WAP. WELL DISCUSSED.
