Why internet bandwidth is costly

Suppose i have 3 mbps internet connection and want to increase it to 6 mbps.

I don't think service providers have to lay new cable or device for my increased demand. Still they will charge me more.

My question is "is there any cost increase at service providers end when my bandwidth demand increases?"

but if you want more, you have to pay more. It's called free market.
