It would knock off all users and some routers would reboot or lockup. But try the router's latest firmware and router defaults. Set a simple SSID and enable only WPA/WPA PSK security.
Outside of any ISP changes that's it.
HOWEVER the details are so slim in this post that's going to be my only thought other than try another router.

But such items are for those that setup and maintain the routers. I agree it should be simpler but given none of this makes any sense I suggest you call in the person who sets this up and have them try it the Cnet Networking Forum way (which is what I condensed in my reply.)
Also each item such as SSID, WPA/WPA2 are documented on the web. Because of this I don't duplicate web content here. Some take offense at this but it's a limit I have to stand by.
