Problem with Linksys E1000 Wireless Router

My E1000 wireless router keeps losing its signal. After working for a bit, my laptop is no longer able to connect wirelessly to it. The only fix is to reset the router and re-configure from scratch. Cisco technical help claims nothing is wrong with the router or the router settings. I live in a condo unit where the building is wired for internet, so I don't use a cable modem, the ethernet cable goes straight from the wall to the router. When the router stops working, I can still use the internet by plugging directly into my laptop, so I know the ISP's internet connection is fine. Any idea on what to do? Is it the ISP or the router?

I can't tell from your post.

PLEASE try it the Cnet Networking forum way. Router defaults except what's needed and then Broadcast a simple SSID and use WPA PSK for security.

Have had the same trouble with the Linksys N routers.
They seem to run hot, lose connection wireless and speed degrades wired until they are reset.
If the router is still in the return period take it back and try another brand. Doing that fixed our problems.

Well I WOULD use wi-fi, if it worked. The only connection I can get to work is directly from the modem to the main computer. (No router involved.)

If I connect the modem to the router and then try to connect to the wi-fi (with WEP/WPA/nothing at all) it says local only.

I am having the exact same problem with the E1000 V1. I also have an E1000 V2 at my house and it has been problem free. Same block, same internet service provider. Maybe its just a problem with the V1s.
