Best network layout??

Hi,
I am new to n/w'ing and recently in our lab we are planning on upgrading the speed of our intra lab n/w so that we can isolate from very slow building n/w that runs on 10Mbps. Due to this very slow n/w we are having problems moving data (usually 95% of our data is uncompressed video files) and it takes forever to do back-up or accessing FTP etc.
Lab IT details-
# PCs - 22 (including normal systems and a FTP server and a backup server)
# Printers - 2
I came up with a design where I can use 2 (12 port) Gigabit switches to which all the systems are connected and get a 4-port gigabit wireless router to which a 100Mbps (this is as fast as we can get in our building) internet line is connected and connect two ports to two switches and two ports to each printer while connecting all the PC systems to two switches. Before I thought of getting a single 24 port gigabit switch, but since the router will have 4 ports I thought I can share single internet connection more effectively by using two switches, am I right??
Now for the thing I am confused is, if someone wants to access their system remotely like they do now, can they still do that with this new network (this is one of the priorities)??
-thanks ahead for any help/suggestion.
