Intel PROSet/Wireless Driver Missing Plugins

I have this software installed on my laptop and I am using IBM access connections to manage my connection. The wireless card works fine, and so does the manager. Problem is that when I boot, I get an error message that states the following.

Error loading plug-ins. Application will exit.

I click Ok, but the wireless works fine. If you leave the error up, the wireless works fine, and the application never exits.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail. You guys are my last hope.

I am getting the following during every boot cycle:

Intel PROSet/Wireless Error loading plug-ins. Application will exit.

System is a Dell Inspiron 9300, Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel 2200BG wi/fi.

The system has generally been very good. I think this began when some other software was uninstalled to clean up space and it took out some bit of Intel PROSet software that it should have left alone. I have re-installed the Intel PROSet drivers from the Dell web site, and I have uninstalled the Intel 2200 card and let Windows re-install it. No joy.

The Wi/Fi still works fine at home, but I sometimes have trouble sending email from transient WiFi connections. In that case I can web browse, but I get errors sending email. I don't know if that is related or not. I was thinking that might be the bit of Intel Plug-In that got corrupted.

I don't know if I have an XP repair disk somewhere or not. We're in the middle of moving, but many times these systems come with the system pre-installed and no distribution CD.

Any other ideas? There has to be some registry setting that I can check?

Well I don't know about the original poster but I have a Dell Inspiron 9200 with XP Home. Though I don't know what difference that makes. As I don't know where the problem is, I don't know WHICH specifics to include.

The conflict of Wireless and ASAP utilities

When my ASAP utilities is expired. The wireless also have this message "Error in.... The application will exit". The solution here is to install the new ASAP utilities in this site:

and everything will be ok like before, hehe
