Mixing SATA and IDE Drives

Hi there. I have an ASUS M/B with a SATA H/D but wanted to transfer some of the data from my old IDE drives. I bought a converter on a certain online auction site. Fitted it ok, led lit up on both converter and m/b but when I boot up I can't see the IDE drive on My Computer or on the BIOS setup. What am I doing wrong?

You should try all three jumper settings. IDE has Master, Slave and Cable Select. That's a 2 out of 3 chance it could be that.
