Re-appearing folder

I have a folder on a flash drive that will not stay deleted. I can delete it and hit refresh and it comes back. I reformated it and it still comes back, no matter how many times I delete the folder. The flash drive was accidently washed and was broken in the washing machine, so I bought a new one. Now, not only is that same folder is coming back on the new flash drive, it has started to appear on my other flash drives. Please help cause its driving me crazy!

The mere fact it reappears, suggests you have a process or app/pgm. that generates it. As already stated to you, it's a side effect or "suppose" to happen action. You left out too many details, PC, make-up and all products #'s etc. to include what you're running. Google for that folder name and see what pops up, its probably OK other than it takes up space.

It is a file I made that is reappearing. The flashdrive is a PNY and it happens on both XP and 7 operating systems.

There are RESERVED NAMES that can cause issues. Sorry but without the name I've having to write the stick is bad or the machine has a bad pest.

Default folder

I suspect the file you made was done for a purpose in the 1st place. Thus, it suggests after you explain what that purpose is. It may refer to something you've now forgotten. If you think this is malware, then run the AV tests to include rootkit, all the tests in order to eliminate it all.

A good example are camera files. The memory source/stick they use at least provides one folder it will always defer default to, so even if deleted it has to be regenerated in order for the camera to store files to its default folder. Since it happens on both XP and Win7 PCs, then what is common that you've entered or generated yourself as a clue.

I see this happen all the time with sticks I exchange with my Apple users. But it's supposed to happen.

As Bob said, need to know name and hopefully location of item, then it might be easier to deal with.
