Prevent falls(drops)

Many ext. HD users report that their ext. HD were dropped or bounced from the working area. Most ext. HDs aren't build to be shock resistant though it *may* work for a short time before it reports failure. Of course, the degree of damage is related to the drop. A very simple cure to prevent such accidental falls is the use of "non-slip foam" mat. Typically used for use in kitchen or anything where reduction of the placed items from moving. Often enough this non-slip foam looks like mesh or screen and soft to the touch. Comes in a roll or section which can be easily cut to fit needs. Found in home sections of the store/market. For typical ext. HD a small mat can be cut and using a "bright color" to more readily notice ext. HD location. It won't prevent all falls but it will help reduce any of simple sliding off desk or pet kicking(play item). enjoy -----Willy ![]()
