Does my computer has the ability to be a port multiplier?

Im currently in the market for an external hard drive. I was looking at a multi bay enclosure such as Mediasonic's Probox. However I keep reading where it says that for the computer to recognize and use all of the drives your computer's esata ports need to be able to support a port multiplier. I know my computer has an esata port I just don't know if it supports a port multiplier. My laptop is a Dell Studio 1558 that was purchased in 2010?

Or Mediasonic.

http://www.mediasmartserver.net/2009/01/15/how-important-is-port-multiplier-support/ repeats that some makers remove as a cost reduction move since most folk connect ONE DRIVE TO ONE PORT.

Frankly? If the maker of the drive or machine can't answer, no sale.

and use all of the drives SIMULTANEOUSLY, your computer's esata ports need to be able to support a port multiplier (not just port multiplier but FSI).
