tv-connected HD noise

Hi, I have a 1.5 TB hard drive (iO Data) for recording programs from TV. It is always plugged in and connected by USB to the television. Whether I am recording or not, electronic noise from the HD is getting into the TV audio output. It is not very loud but is annoying. Unplugging the USB cable fixes this but that only works when not recording something. Has anybody else had this problem and worked out a fix?

Usually cured by using another make and model.

Some folk are wishing for how to fix what they have. Here I've tried other make/model USB cases.
