Password Protecting a USB Drive

Hello,

I have a 4gb USB jump drive that is also a voice recorder that I use for college classes. I need software to password protect my drive without having to partition it. The reason being is because when I partition it, the internal voice recorder doesn't recognize the partitioned part, therefore will not record properly.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

No I actually need to protect the whole drive.. The voice recorder is voice activated. So if I have it turned on, it will record throughout the day, and then I transfer the files to my computer so I can listen whenever I need to. But because the audio files are pretty large, I need to delete them each time I transfer so I have enough room for more. Therefore, protecting the files would not work because I am going to be deleting them often.

The reason I need to protect the drive is because there have been a few times that I accidentially forgot to turn the recorder off and it recorded things I didn't mean to.. oops! My sister is very nosey, and she has plugged it up a few times to see what information I have on there, and I don't want her seeing or hearing any information stored.

Password protect USB drive in Windows 7 [free]

Use the Windows 7 BitLocker tool to protect your drive by a password.
