Possible solution to "usb drive with no case"
I have never seen a raw hard drive with USB interface; probably because the current USB 2.0 interface runs less than half the speed of the common HDD interface (SATA) used in computers and external USB drive cases.
Assuming that a 200 piece order is too small for your own manufacturer run, you are pretty much stuck with buying generic USB external drives (like the other person suggested) or USB drive enclosures and modify or enhanced them. Even if you plan to have your own artistic case made, you'll still get the electronics and connectors hardware from USB enclosures that can be had at pretty low prices. The reason for the USB drive enclosures is that you can buy hard drives from the manufacturer's website directly (Seagate, Maxtor and Hitachi, etc) and get a better price for the quantity you need.
You can order USB drive enclosures from places like Tiger Direct for cheap. They are like your USB external drives without the hard disk inside. The idea is so you can buy your own IDE or SATA hard drives to put inside.
Since these drive enclosures are like commodities, the cases are generally plain plastic for 3.5 inch drivers (used in desktop computers). You can find nice looking brushed aluminum case also, with no logo. It's great for you to apply custom silk screen design over them.
While 2.5 inch laptop drives are more expensive, they are really portable and they can be powered only by the computer or laptop you plug them into. In case one USB port you're plugging it into doesn't supply enough power, the package often comes with a cable where you can connect the power inlet on these enclosures to either a second USB connector on you laptop or an old fashion IBM mouse input on your desktop; all this can be found for $10 to $20.
For 3.5" drive enclosures, I see one from TigerDirect for only $15; but it's USB bus powered (no power brick), which means you have to use the more expensive low-power (and sometimes slower) hard drives.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
