"Unblocking" the usb-port on my company laptop for pendrives

I am using a company provided HP Laptop (Compaq nx 7300) with Windows Vista OS. Recently due to virus attacks, our sysadmin has blocked access to USB-Ports for Pendrives only, I however can continue to use other USB based devices like Mouse, Keyboard etc. I need an utility that can "unblock" this and allow me to use usb-pendrives as usual.

One of our policies is that we don't give advice on how to override company imposed rules. All I can advise: contact your sysadmin or let your boss do it.

Good sense seems to prevail and it sounds (looks) foolish for me to try and "unblock" what has been intentionally "blocked" by our sysadmin keeping in mind various security aspects. Will look at other solutions (wine, whiskey, w(v)odka) now...!! happy

I find that Beer when given to IT or BOSS unlocks this issue.

You're defeating the "locks/safety" required and thus you're hacking and/or attacking the system. If your system ever becomes infected and you place the flashdrive or system to the network, guess what, you've become the source of an infection. Is your job worth that much? As the others explained work with your people and see what they can do for ya.
AND, if you're granted permission, keep it to yourself, as others may want similar privileges and guess what, you're back to square 1 and system(network) can be more easily comprised.
