Run and download windows media player to my flash drive?

Hi,

I am not sure if WMP is even a free program or just comes with your computer. Anyhow, at work I play music on the WMP that is installed on my computer but I don't have administrative rights to update do it is an old version that needs critical updates and therefore does not function well. Is there anyway, I can download WMP or another free music program to my flash drive and run it directly from the flash drive without having to install on my work computer?

Like 99% of all programs, they must be installed on and run from the C: drive.

Thanks I tried that link and everytime I downloaded it and tried to open it, it wanted to search for a program to open with. It wasn't an executuable file. hmmm. Anyhow I found this other portable player to download, but it may not play wma files. I'll report back.

Guess I should have mentioned the name. Also,it does play WMA files. Seems to be working fine. I'll try at work tommorow.

I downloaded a program that allowed me to unzip the rar format. It downloaded fine to my flash drive but now when i try to play a song on the media player I get a message that says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I don't knowwhy that is everything else is playing my music fine. The full version on my hard drive works just fine. Maybe I'll uninstall and try again
