Drobo with Droboshare or HP MediaSmart Server ex475?

Trying to determine the best setup for mostly Windows based home network. Have a lot of recorded programs with Windows Media Center and lots of music in iTunes. Would also like to share movies, photos, video clips and the like over the network. I'm not quit sure if Drobo with Droboshare or HP MediaSmart Server is the right answer. It seems as though Drobo does not backup data but is more flexible and easier to use. However HP MediaSmart Server seems to have backup capability but somewhat more cumbersome. I'm above average when it comes to networking and technology, but I don't want to do more with the system than necessary. Would love to set the system up once any only have to deal with it if a drive fails. The price of both setups is about the same. Anyone with any experience with this type of setup or any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
