Feel like I just walked into a clean room!

Is this the Matrix? Where did everything and everybody go? Would have been nice to have brought some of the last entries from the old forums so this didn't look so naked. Is anyone responding to questions or is everyone just getting on to be the first entry in the new layout?

I will try one and see what happens. This may be too generic but how much or what size UPS does a desktop computer need. I am sure a lot depends on what's in the desktop package, but I didn't really know where to start. What do you usually plug into the UPS and what do you leave off? What kind of support time are you looking for generally?

Both your links gave me a Catalog Error. Is this a result of the new forum format or am I doing something wrong. Before, all I had to do was click on the link and away it went.

Doug,

The new Forum SW appears to have issue with URLs that exceed a certain length.

Try:
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatSectionView.process?IWAction=Load&Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=76

If no joy try http://www.belkin.com/
Look uner Power Protection | UPS | Desktop Usage | look for these models.

The first one provides power for up to 25 mins @ 275 Watts with 4 Outlets.
This should allow you to save your files before you shutdown your PC provided you are around when the power outage occurs.

The second one lats 45 minutes @ 450 watts.

The top model provides 100 minutes power @ 670 watts.

You should probably check for the wattage used by the devices you want to plug into the UPS. Probably at least the computer and its display. Then be sure the UPS can deliver at least a little more than that. The Belkin 500VA looks a little marginal at 275 watts.
