Audio stuttering/skipping has occurred on all media playback and I have no idea why. It started happening after I updated my computer via Windows Update after not having it for a couple months and possibly after updating all my programs (iTunes, Malware Bytes, Microsoft Security Essentials, etc).
I really do not believe it's a memory/RAM issue as I have 6GB of RAM and I've ran several programs before without a problem. Although it does occur specifically when I'm browsing a page or watching a movie. I mean, it happens all the time, randomly (again, it never happened prior to updating everything).
Aside from that, the only other things I can think of is I love customizing my PC visually via Rainmeter and Litestep but I've uninstalled them and I don't see how either of those programs would cause any audio problems. I've never messed with my audio as I have no reason to. I also run a lot of registry cleaners via CCleaner and I've already tried looking for a backup, couldn't find one. I have ran one System Defrag, I don't even know if it completed or not -- I've had troubles running it since I got my computer.
-I've tried un/reinstalling my audio drivers, it did not work.
-I've tried listening to things on other programs without iTunes running, nothing.
-I've read that sometimes a lot of people being on the same network could cause this problem but I've disconnected from the internet and still heard stuttering.
-I've used headphones, all issues still occur.
Any ideas? This is annoying as hell.
