I switch on my computer but shuts off after about 4 seconds?

When I turn on the computer it starts up for about 2 seconds, then beeps twice and after about 2 more seconds it shuts down. It will not start up again for a while (maybe 15 seconds). I then power it back on and it shuts off again as described above.

I have a Gateway DX4860-UB21P

I have changed out the power supply but that did not fix the problem.

Any ideas? What do the two beeps mean?

My old gateway beeped twice too.

And it always did. Didn't mean a thing on that model.

Did you try the old downsize the machine? Unplug everything? Even ram?
