New Motherboard for Viglen Incepta II

I have an old Viglen Incepta II pc with socket type LGA775, SiS651FX chipset P4 2.40GHz and 1gb ram. The case is fine and it runs ok, if a bit slow. I am ready to put a new motherboard, chipset and generally upgrade everything but would like to keep the case. Has anyone got any recommendations? Can I put a better motherboard in the old case, if so what would fit and should I do this anyway. I have built pc's before but don't know what will fit or be suitable in this one.

Here's the ATX motherboard form factor.

http://www.formfactors.org/FFDetail.asp?FFID=1&CatID=1 has all the details about this standard so you can use that to see if this is an ATX case and if the mounting holes look OK.

My bet is you'll have to replace the power supply and rear I/O plate. Many motherboards come with the I/O plate.
