Curious how much my Desktop is worth?

I'm thinking of buying a Laptop for the first time but I was curious how much I could get for my Desktop.


Motherboard: ASUS Maximus II Formula LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX
Video Card: Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256Bit DDR5
Ram: 8GB G.Skill 2GBx4 DDR2 1100
Processor: Intel 2 Quad Core Q6600 2.4 Ghz
+ COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP 92mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Intel Core i7 compatible
Hard Drives: 7200 RPM 250GB Hard Drive
Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 64GB
Power Supply: PC Power and Cooling S61EPS 610W

Computer is roughly 3 and a half years old except some parts are newer like the CPU cooler and video card.

Can also throw in a G15 keyboard and a 17" Dell Monitor

Sorry, here's the bad news, not much. Tops would be $250 with EVERYTHING included. Leave something out, it drops more. Maybe, if you sold it piece meal it sell more or not, it's an old PC and roughly when you check the pricing for anything new you get an idea what you're up against. That's my guess but you can check eBay and Craigslist for comparison pricing as well. -----Willy happy

selling a used PC and the OS disk separately might get you more money. This would only work if the disk was such as a Windows XP retail as you cannot legally sell an OEM copy for re-use.

but someone may "love" it and give you more.

unfortunately, new systems are cheap and any i5 based system will match the performance of your system. add a $90 graphics card to a new $500 PC and it's better than your old PC and includes a warranty.

best to sell to an acquaintance (not a friend otherwise you become their tech support) who wants what you've got. throw in some games/software to sweeten the pot. or donate it and write off an elevated price as a donation.
