I recently ordered the CNET-endorsed Velocity Micro Z40 after my 5 year-old Dell died. Interested in the reliability of a company I've never had business with, I looked up Velocity Micro reviews. After reading a half-dozen pages of reviews populated by an ominous number of people reporting severe problems with their new systems, it seemed like I have a 20% chance of receiving a malfunctioning computer. Fortunately I am aware that a handful of negative experiences is not statistically representative of the actual failure rate; unfortunately I'm also aware that shipping is a major factor in computer damage, and the 7-day 3,000 mile journey from Velocity Micro in Virginia to me in California is cause for concern. Or is it?
Can anyone post their experience with Velocity Micro? I'm most interested in how well they package their computers, but really any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks
