Turn Off or Leave On

A Dell Tech told me the battery life will be longer if we do not turn off our computers. I leave two computers running. I do turn off my cable modem at the end of each day or if I am going to be away during the day so that no one can enter through any port. I turn off computers when I am away for extended periods.

The answer is the battery can only be charged/discharged so many times. Today's laptops (the good ones) will just charge it up and that's it. Leaving on may give you more days with the battery, but you pay in other ways.

Sadly, the topic you choose is a duplicate and if it takes off like the on/off thread, I'll lock it.

Since it's a battery question, put battery in the title?
