computer takes about 6 to 7 min to boot..

by sakalpjyt - 9/1/10 4:22 AM

Hi! I have a serious problem...my computer was getting slow so i restart..but now login screen wouldn't appear instead a message box with restart, shutdown and username and password appears(which logs off immediately after i enter it and the process repeats on and on) further, all it does was restart even when i click shutdown...so i had to pull the plug about 3-4 times continuously hoping it would log on ..eventually i decided to reformat windows with windows VistaVG edition...after its installed now the computer passes the BIOS and gets kinda black for about 6 minutes, then as normal the white status bar appears below and then the boot screen appears as usual...after that its again back to normal, computer isn't slow, nothing goes wrong..until i restart the next time...the problem doesn't seem to go ..
I have a 40Gb hard drive,two RAM (128MB + 512MB),P4 2.00GHZ processor.
First i thought it was the RAM so remove both and reinsert them alternately..Both are fine ,nothing wrong...i also remove the battery and insert it after a while , the same thing happens..Another thing is that the red light indicating hard drive in front of the CPU doesn't flash..only the green light indicating processor seem to work normally..first 6 mins,i thought my hard drive has crashed but,, how is it suppose to work perfectly without any complication after it logs on??????? what might have caused the 6 min black out???
please i request for a solution...what shall i do??
