I've lost my Vista Aero Theme

Hi everyone!

I've got a problem with my Vista Aero Theme. After running an AVG scan, I found 4 infections in my computer so i let AVG remove them. Then I reboot my computer but none of my startup programs worked and my theme was switched back to vista basic. I can't switch back to aero because it's not listed on the color scheme. There is also a message box saying there is an unknown device on my computer. I tried to update the driver but windows could not identify the device and it doesn't have any information on it. So if anyone could help, i'd be very appreciated.
The infected files that AVG removed are as followed:

"C:\Windows\System32\system.exe"
"C:\Windows\userinit.exe"

Here's my system information:

Model: Dell Inspiron 530
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @1.80 GHz 1.80 GHz
Memory(RAM): 2.00 GB
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Graphic: 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO

Hey guys, I've figured out a way to solve this problem. It turns out that my Desktop Windows Manager stopped working. After turning it to automatic, i was able to get the aero theme and my startup items are working normally.

Saw you had the same problem as I'm having with loosing the aero theme for my desk top, it happened after downloading and installing Norton Utilities 14. Where do I find the destkop windows manager and how do I set it to automatic? I'm definitely not a techie so would need simple explanation/instructions. I have since un-installed Norton Utilities. Thank you!

I just installed Norton Utilities V14 and ran the Recommended Services under Manage Your Services and lost the Aero theme. To get it back, I went to the Windows Task Manger (i.e. hit control-alt-delete and hit Windows Task Manager button). I then selected the services tab and scrolled down to "Themes" and tried to start it there. It would not, so while "Themes was highlighted, I hit "services" in the lower right hand corner of the Windows Task Manager window and it brought up the "Services" window. I scrolled down to "Themes" and right clicked and selected properties. Under properties hit the drop down menu for system start up and select Automatic. I then went back to my desktop, right clicked and selected themes and the Vista Theme was avialable and did work when I selected it.

I am running Vista Home 64bit

I had to drop into the Task Manager and Themes also. I needed to stop and start themes and then apply. My selection in properties then had aero and vista basic again.
