Cellular Modem for Desktops

Hi, everyone i'm rather new here and have a question.
I just moved and am not going to sign up for a phone line since it's just me and i already have a cell phone. However, i just realized that i would be able to connect to the internet with my desktop. I know most of the cellular modem are used for laptops but is there a cellular modem i can use with a dail up connection (i get it free with school which is why i haven't gone broadband) for desktops? Thanks

Your clue will be similar to http://www.net.tamu.edu/network/offcampus.html

Your ISP (in this case, the school) will have to reveal what modem protocol your modem will have to implement. Then you need a cable from that modem's telco jack to the cell phone.
