Black Screen "No signal Input"

Hello
My Sony pc pvc 2252 ( Vaio ?) Will not display anything.When turned on, a small screen would flash for few seconds ''No power input'' then back to black.
Tried hooking to my other monitor still nothing but this time the error is ''no signal'' removed video card placed it in other pc ,working fine. I have no clue to
whats going on.Please if anyone responds keep in mind
that my knowledge of pc is elementary. Thank you.Pat

Onboard vid?

Does the motherboard have onboard graphics? If that is the case, you may have to switch something in bios. (using the onboard, obviously)

If the slot is agp, there may be a jumper that you need to change. Look into it in the manual that comes with the board. (you may be able to find the manual online, and if you don't know the board I think tomshardware.com has an app that finds all your computer info...)

I don't have manual. Not sure if it has onboard graphic. Have not been able to find anything about this MB other than it is P4SD-VL . Hope this helps:the monitor connects to a blue connections on graphic card which also has a white three rowes connectors right next to it ( I believe for plasma monitor) pc came with this type of monitor but plug fits only in standard blue slot. I guess the other is optional.I also noticed that while pc boots nothing on key board flashes at all.Small green light on MB is on.I'm starting to think that problem is w/MB.is there a way to test it?

If it says " no power input"

I hate to suggest this but you may want to check your power supply as it may be the problem. If you are unable to check it, you will have to have it checked by a tech but it really sounds like it is either your power supply, power supply circuit to your graphics board which would include the graphics board socket itself. You could try taking out your power supply and substituting it with a known working one. Be sure the supply is able to put out enough power for the board you have as some newer boards require a minimum 450 watt power supply.

Check with onboard video first.

If your mother board has onboard graphics check the display with that first. To do that you need to remove the video card and make changes in the BIOS to select onboard vga.By the way, can you access the BIOS? Keep the case open and observe if the processor and chasis fans spin when you start the system. If not look in the back of the power supply to see if the PS fan works.
